Position Summary:

As the Lead Plant Operator, you will oversee the daily operations of the renewable natural gas (RNG) located at the City of Corsicana landfill. This role requires strong hands-on experience with landfill gas processing systems and mechanical/electrical systems. You will work with the plant manager to oversee site personnel, implement maintenance and safety programs, ensure plant optimization, and interface with the City of Corsicana and other key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support plant operators, including scheduling and performance oversight
  • Lead and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities
  • Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of landfill gas-to-energy systems
  • Maintain and manage a well-stocked inventory of spare parts and critical equipment
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot process issues to maximize output
  • Provide ad hoc support and services as needed and mutually agreed upon

Required Technical Expertise:

  • Process Experience: Solid understanding of process systems, especially in renewable energy or landfill gas operations
  • Landfill Gas Systems: Familiarity with landfill gas collection, compression, treatment, and utilization systems
  • Compressors: In-depth knowledge of compressor operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Mechanical & Electrical Systems: Strong working knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment relevant to gas and power plant operations
  • PLC Programming: Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and their role in process automation and control; ability to interpret logic diagrams and support control system troubleshooting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a supervisory or lead operator role in a similar industrial environment
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to evolving operational needs
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
